about

Arenaria interpres. 3 July 2001, 4.15 am. Kalajoki (Western Finland). The Ruddy Turnstone can best be recognized by its call. The squeaking "viti-viti-vitititi" song is so original that one cannot mistake it for any other species. In this recording, the bird is hopping along the shore silt washed by the waves, occasionally bursting into song lively. Common Gull. 3'08''
