about

25 May 2007, 10.00 p.m. Savukoski, Sarvilampi. In spring, when the floodwaters are rising, a Common Goldeneye arrives on the shoreline. It is one of the first species of pond birds to breathe new life into the soundscape on the shore. In addition to the squeaking and crunching sounds, the mating calls of this bird include the sounds of its energetic wing beats.
