Picoides tridactylus. 5 March 2000, 9.15 am, Kuopio (Eastern Finland), Riistavesi. The mysterious Three-toed Woodpecker is one of the characteristic species of the northern taiga. Its preferred habitat are spruce mires with old majestic spruce trees covered with hanging moss. In this recording, you can hear the display drumming of the male bird in March. Crested Tit. 1'40''
