about

This is a collection of soundscapes recorded in the years 2001 – 2021. The double CD has a total of 94 tracks recorded in Scandinavia and the Baltic regions. All of these tracks are typical soundscapes of these regions. The recordings have been made by hiding the recording equipment such that there are no traces of the presence of human beings. In this way, it has been possible to make totally natural recordings and there are no alarm or warning sounds from the birds or mammals. Thus we have unique soundscapes; perhaps the most interesting are those mystery sounds for which it has not been possible to designate them to a particular species. There are a total of 13 of these kinds of tracks for which there are no visual observations or photographs. There are also 15 rare soundscapes; for example, otters, great crested grebes, herring gulls and whooper swans.
